I'm a writer, all right.
I work the whole night
And well into the following day;

Still nothing comes
And my guilt always drums
Because I've been away;

Then the bulb lights
And I'm writing for nights
With sleep a far away dream;

Yep, I'm a writer all right!

Sharon, that's a good one. I do believe that life has purpose, and living your purpose brings you joy - another antidote to discouragement! :)

Nancy, my husband always says, "I can sleep when I die." LOL! I don't know who said it first, but I hear it a lot. I like your dad's saying, too! :)

Kitty, great post. I am often so busy that I don't accomplish much in my writing. I appreciate your idea of looking at what you did get done, not what you didn't have time to do. My dad used to say, "It's better to wear out than to rust out." I always loved that and I know I'm not sitting around gathering rust. :)

God Bless,
Nancy

Kitty, here's one that I keep posted right in front of me, on my computer station. It keeps me going when I get the writing blues.

"I do not want to die...until I have faithfully made the most of my talent and cultivated the seed that was placed in me until the last small twig has grown."
