Yes! That’s what I’ve been thinking of lately, too, that I’m just going through the motions. I need to “ramp it up,” to “sow generously.” Here’s to sowing (and NOT digging up those little seedlings just to see if they are growing LOL) generously! May we see the beginnings of a bountiful harvest by this time next year!

Very thought provoking and of the intriguing kind, not the “oh, crap, another thing i SHOULD be doing.” I especially got a “oh. yeah!” on the doing what others were telling me to do, what to write, what sells, how to do it. It’s a trap I fell into for myself even though as a fiction coach i’m always telling clients that they will find THEIR own way of writing, beyond the foundational elements. Sowing. Sounds good to me. Especially the preposition after it…”to.” Sowing TO something makes all the difference.

I really love this. I think sometimes I get so caught up in meeting my goals and deadlines that it feels like a chore. I need to remember that is what I LOVE to do and not something I HAVE to do. Thanks for the reminder!

Stephanie, you made me laugh! That’s what my sister and I did as children waiting for our garden to grow! LOL!

Kathleen, it’ll be great to see how we can encourage each other to sow TO our writing this year!

Sandy, so great to “see” you again! Welcome to Routines For Writers! Thanks for such a nice comment, too! :)

J. Alexa, that’s exactly what happens with me too often – my joy becomes a chore. Here’s to a new year filled with more JOY than chores! LOL!
