Online Groups.
When I was an expectant mom I joined a Yahoo group of other expectant moms. If I ever had a question or concern, I’d post it to the group and have my answer within 24 hours. Since then I’ve joined various online groups that match my interests. My husband jokes that all knowledge of the universe lies within my Yahoo groups.
My favorite online writer’s group is called The Writers View. The View is a group of professional writers who write for the Christian market. They have a great format: two discussion questions are posted each week. The panelists give their answers first, then the floor opens up for the other group members to comment. The group is well organized and on-topic. (I especially love the on-topic aspect.)

Last September I joined Kitty and Stephanie in the blog world. I have to admit that I’m more of a lurker than a commenter when it comes to blogs and groups. BUT, I am interested in coming out of my shell. If you have a blog or website, or twitter address, please leave a comment with a link so I (we) can visit you. I’d really like to see who you are and what you are writing about. If you tend to be a lurker like me, pop out of your cave for a bit and say Hi! If you don’t have your own website yet, you can just post what it is you are writing.

i admit i do my fair share of lurking. i’m not proud of it, but gosh, i just don’t always have something constructive to add to a post, you know? but, like you, i’d like to involve myself in a more active way with my various internet communities. first step?
