Setting my writing routines has helped me with my priorities, but I really like your question–what is the BEST use of my time? I’m sure most of my time is not spent in the BEST zone.

Congrats on your book release today! No pressure, but where are you on that Jerome book? I visited there once and the place lit my imagination. I would love to read a historical book set in Jerome.

Hi Shonna,
Good to hear from you.
Good question too. Actually, I’m meeting with my WaterBrook editor next week and we’ll be talking about future series. One of which is Arizona. I’d still love to write a series set in Jerome. I pulled some of the characters and plot points out for Two Brides Too Many, but the main character remained. I’d just have to tweak her situation a bit. All doable. We’ll see.

I’m totally stalled because of lack of interest from agents and rejection. I want to keep writing and feel my children’s books especially have potential. How do I sell it! Thanks for all the tips for staying in there Mona. I love taking the journey with you. You are an inspiration.

Hi, Sharen. I hear you. The downturn in the economy really knocked the children’s market off its feet. So expensive to produce four-color, illustrated picture books and even the early readers, which makes the price point prohibitive for publishers and book buyers. Have it polished to a fine shine and ready. The market will open up again. And thanks for joining me on my journey.

Mona, what a great post! So much good info in there! I really got convicted about how I could get more writing done if I used every 5 or 10 or 30 minutes I have. I haven’t done that because I read fiction during that time and don’t want to read less, or I am too lazy to carry my reading glasses and a notebook on the bus, or any number of other excuses. Perfect conviction for Anti-Procrastination Month! Thanks!

Thanks, Kitty. I’m afraid I wouldn’t get much writing done if I didn’t use those 5 or 10 or 30 minutes wedges of time. Thanks for the opportunity to visit with the Routines for Writers followers.
