How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives,”
–Annie Dillard, The Writing Life
What a great quote! Want to be a writer? Look how you’ll get to spend your days:
- Reading
- Writing
- Editing
- Marketing
- Dreaming
- Studying the craft
- Submitting queries and manuscripts
- Dealing with rejection and pressing on (start back up at reading!)
- Celebrating your first book!
Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Granted, we still have to do the regular activities like eat, spend time with our families, pay the bills, etc. But what if your days looked like this instead:
- Going for coffee
- Checking email
- Watching TV
- Shopping
- Puttering
- Cleaning out a drawer
- Meeting a friend for lunch
- Thinking about how great it would be to write a book.
Doesn’t sound as fun, does it? Don’t put off the writing. Anti-procrastination month is the month to get our focus back. Pull out those projects you’ve been avoiding, for whatever reason, and hit them head on. Join us this month and see how much writing you get done.
