Oops. Stephanie forgot to write a blog this week. But she finished a project. Not a writing project, but a major house project. Oh, that’s right. You don’t care about that. You are here to read about writing, getting it done and getting it read. Well, I’m sorry, but this week I dropped the writing ball.
Recently my husband reminded a young man that it’s not if you “fall down” in life. You will fail and fall down. It’s how you get back up that determines your character. It certainly applies to me this week. I’ve fallen down, slipped up and generally failed, especially with my writing and this blog.
But I won’t quit! I’ll get back up, refocus on my goals and restart those routines. I may not finish anything this week, but I will certainly make progress. And I will keep on picking myself up and starting over for as long as it takes. That is the only way to finish anything. And I will finish. Something. Soon.
Keep at it! Even when you fall flat on your face and despair of ever getting the words right. Or even just getting them down. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back to the writing. That’s where you’ll find me. If you care, that is.

Don’t worry, I got nothin’ either. I’ve been too busy with a freelance project. But I’m arranging my next few weeks for minimal work so I can get back to the MS.
And not having time to work on revising has given me breathing space to think through some issues. I may spend my first two or three “free” days simply thinking some more.
Good luck getting back to your routines!
Thanks, Jane! And, yes, breaks for thinking are always good. In addition to the major re-organizing house project, I’ve been doing little craft-type things lately. All that has allowed me some thinking time, too. Now that the major project is finished (well, except for one small area), I should be able to break through this inertia and get back to some level of productivity. Hope you do, too!
Yep, that’s what the past week has been for me. Thankfully, today is a new start! Good luck with re-entering the writing fray!
